About Twigg + Lu Design Co.

Brittany and Shannon met several years ago and instantly hit it off. Along came an idea to start a business together doing what they love.

Their business name was inspired by childhood nicknames. Brittany’s (Twiggy) was given to her by her grandpa and Shannon’s (Lucy Brown) was given to her by her dad. They shortened the names to create Twigg + Lu.

With over 22 years of combined experience in the design industry, Shannon and Brittany provide full service interior design and pride themselves in multiple design styles pertaining to each project's vision.

Meet the Team

Brittany Meidinger

Co-Owner/ Principal Designer

Brittany has been working in the design industry for the last fourteen years and there is no stopping her now. Design is in her and not a day goes by her mind is not scheming up some sort of design plan or idea. (She’s serious, ask her fiancé!)

Brittany has experience in everything from new home selections, remodels, furniture selections, window treatments and accessorizing. Lover of wallpaper, statement light fixtures, large art pieces and an antique sprinkled in because “one should never be the oldest thing in one’s house!” Brittany has an appreciation and talent for an array of design styles whether you’re modern, transitional, boho chic or something in-between she will work with you to design your home to reflect your style.

No two clients are the same, just as no two projects are the same. Brittany doesn’t want your house to look like your neighbors, she will make it unique to your taste and your needs. She loves a good trend here and there but ultimately is looking to design spaces for her clients to love for years to come.

Brittany was raised in the small town of Moose Lake, MN and currently resides in Vadnais Heights with her fiancé Lance and their son Hugo. When Brittany is not designing you can find her living the ultimate #momlife or thrifting at any and all vintage shops and estate sales she can possibly get to.

Shannon Knutson

Co-Owner/ Principal Designer

Shannon has always had a knack for design and made the decision several years ago to utilize her talent and switch careers in order to pursue her passion in the interior design industry. Along with her interior design experience, Shannon attended Century College for Kitchen & Bath Design to be able to offer this specialized service to her clients.

Shannon’s main goal when coming up with the design for a space is to make sure it is a place that is cozy and comfortable. “When coming home after a long day of work or running kids around, you should be able to walk in the front door and love coming home.” She loves to mix design styles from rustic and modern to beachy and industrial. “There are no rules to designing a beautiful space as long as it’s cohesive and makes you feel happy.” Trends in design are always going to be changing, so she believes in sticking to a classic, timeless and fresh design and only adding “trends” in small doses.

Shannon grew up in the small town of Shell Lake, WI and has lived in Woodbury, MN for the past 22 years. The conveniences of suburban living are nice, but she will always consider herself a “Sconnie” girl and remain true to her small town roots. Shannon enjoys spending time with her family of four. Husband Ryan, children Ava and Parker and her Goldendoodles Kramer + Elaine. When she’s not designing homes you can find Shannon cheering her son on at East Ridge Baseball and Football games or visiting her daughter at the University of Iowa.
